The Asian Legends League (ALL) will begin its second season on July 30 in Lusaka, Zambia, featuring six teams and 19 matches, culminating with the final on August 10, according to a press release.
The competition includes six country-based franchises: Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Pathans, Pakistan Panthers, and Rest of Asian Stars.
The teams are led by former international cricketers: Yusuf Pathan for the Indian Royals, Thisara Perera for the Sri Lankan Lions, Shakib Al Hasan for the Bangladesh Tigers, Asghar Afghan for the Afghanistan Pathans, Mohammad Hafeez for the Pakistan Panthers, and Tillakaratne (TM) Dilshan for the Rest of Asian Stars.
Several renowned former international players are participating, including Ambati Rayudu, Naman Ojha, Rishi Dhawan, Upul Tharanga, Isuru Udana, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dilshan Munaweera, Asela Gunaratne, Imran Nazir, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Akmal, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Irfan, Alok Kapali, and Malinda Siriwardana, with additional marquee names expected to join.
The tournament schedule includes Qualifier 1 on August 8, Qualifier 2 on August 9, and the season’s final on August 10, which will determine the champion of Season 2.
The entire competition will be broadcast in India by Sony Sports Network as part of a three-season partnership with the Asian Legends League.
With legendary cricketers, intense rivalries, and a distinctive country-based franchise format, the Asian Legends League Season 2 aims to offer another memorable chapter in legends cricket as the first ball is set to be bowled on July 30.
