Time has been ticking towards our Games and today, OMEGA has officially unveiled a Countdown Clock to aid us in remaining on track and reminding the world that in six years’ time, our city, state and nation will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games,
“The next six years will pass by quickly and OMEGA’s Countdown Clock revealed today makes our moment in time even more real”, Liveris said.
How did communities celebrate six years to go?
The six-years-to-go milestone was marked across Queensland, with schools, communities and host cities taking part in activities designed to celebrate progress and build excitement for the Games.
Local school celebrations included athlete panels and activities encouraging students to get active, while on the Gold Coast, selected city sports offered free entry, including basketball, badminton and indoor football, and adaptive set-ups for Para sports.
In addition, Gold Coast Libraries displayed Olympic and Paralympic Games-related collections, while the Olympic rings and Paralympic Agitos were installed at Surfers Paradise at dusk for photo opportunities.

“There’s a real sense of anticipation building across Brisbane, Queensland and Australia as we look ahead to welcoming the world and creating an unforgettable Games. Unveiling the OMEGA Countdown Clock today, makes everything feel that much more real, and I can’t wait to see the journey unfold over the next six years.”
When will the Brisbane 2032 Games take place?
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games will take place between 23 July and 8 August, with the Paralympic Games held from 24 August until 5 September.
