PARIS 2024 PARALYMPIC GAMES: THE FOUR CONTENDERS TO BECOME FLAG-BEARERS FOR THE FRENCH DELEGATION

This Friday evening, at 8pm during the French TV channel France 2’s news, the French flag-bearers’ names for the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be revealed.

Alexis Hanquinquant (Para triathlon), David Smétanine (Para swimming), Nantenin Keïta (Para athletics) or Nélia Barbosa (Para canoe)? On July 9 and 10, French Paralympic athletes chose their flag-bearers in a ballot organised by the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF).

The duo – necessarily a man and a woman – elected from these four names will carry the French flag on August 28 at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Here’s a look at the contenders.
