Carlton downs Giants to keep riding wave of wins

CARLTON’S resurrection continues untamed with a fifth consecutive win, this time over Greater Western Sydney away at Engie Stadium.

The 12.16 (88) to 9.11 (65) result has the Blues on the edge of a wildcard place after going through the first nine rounds with just one victory to their name.

After a close first half Carlton made its move, breaking out to a 24-point lead early in the third quarter and seemingly having all the momentum.

Then things shifted as GWS came back to level the scores, before a Sam Walsh set shot after the three-quarter time siren put the visitors back in front by one straight kick.

From there it was all the Blues, kicking the next three goals to get the margin back to 24 and put a fifth straight win in the bag.

More to come
