McCreery headlines three changes for Adelaide

Forward Beau McCreery returns to the Magpies’ team for Saturday night’s Round 23 clash with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

The 24-year-old will play his first game since the Pies’ Round 19 clash with Fremantle, in which he laid 15 tackles – a Collingwood record.

Former first-round draft pick Ed Allan also returns to the line-up after missing Collingwood’s last two matches.

The 21-year-old has added 12 matches to his career games tally in 2025, with the highlight a 24 disposal and eight tackle effort in the Pies’ Round 12 win over North Melbourne.

Defender Wil Parker has been recalled after impressing at VFL level, where he collected 24 disposals and four clearances in the Pies’ win over Williamstown.

It will be the 23-year-old’s first AFL match since Collingwood’s Round 18 win over Carlton and the eighth game of his career.

Defender Jeremy Howe has been omitted after he sustained a concussion in the opening minute of last week’s game against Hawthorn. He has entered protocols and will progress through these under the guidance of the Club’s medical team.

Midfielder Tom Mitchell and utility Will Hoskin-Elliott (omitted) are the other two changes from last week’s team.

Mitchell, defender Oleg Markov and ruck Mason Cox are the three emergencies for the match.

The tactical substitution will be selected from the bench and will be named 60 minutes before the first bounce.

The match will be crucial to the final ladder position heading into September, with Adelaide currently holding top spot and Collingwood sitting in third position.

It will be the Pies’ second match-up with Adelaide this year after a 10-point win in Round 10 which made it 10 consecutive wins over the Crows. The winning streak dates back to Round 4, 2018.

Adelaide Oval has been a happy hunting ground for Collingwood, winning their last 10 games at the ground – the longest active streak for a team at a single venue. The Pies also have the best win-rate of any team in the AFL at the venue at 71.4%.

Collingwood fans can watch the game live on Fox Footy and kayosports.com.au, with the first bounce at 7:35pm (AEST).
