Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has expressed full confidence in his team’s ability to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 final, following a dominant performance in the qualifier against defending champions Islamabad United.
Commending the team’s all-round effort, Shaheen said that every player stepped up at a crucial moment. “The entire team deserves credit for this victory,” he said after the match. “Everyone performed when it mattered most.”
Lahore Qalandars secured their place in the final by defeating Islamabad United by a massive 95-run margin in the knockout match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Batting first, Lahore posted a formidable total of 203 runs. In reply, Islamabad United crumbled and were bowled out for just 107 runs in 15.1 overs.
Shaheen Afridi led from the front with a stellar bowling display, taking 3 wickets for just 3 runs in 3.1 overs.
Praising the top-order, Shaheen said, “Fakhar Zaman and Naeem gave us a brilliant start, especially Naeem’s innings was a treat to watch.”
He also highlighted Abdullah Shafique’s responsible innings as a key factor in the team’s success. “Abdullah gave us confidence, and we put pressure on the opposition by taking early wickets with the new ball, which laid the foundation for victory,” he added.
