Macarthur farewell all-time leading scorer and captain Valere Germain: Details

Macarthur Bulls captain Valere Germain has left the Isuzu UTE A-League club to pursue an overseas opportunity.

Germain departs Macarthur as the team’s all-time leading goalscorer after the former Monaco and Marseille star arrives in Campbelltown ahead of the 2023-24 season.

During his time with the Bulls, the 34-year-old forward has scored 27 goals and supplied 13 assists. This season, he has scored seven goals and provided one assists in the A-Leagues.

Germain also scored four goals en route to Macarthur’s 2024 Australia Cup triumph.

“Germain’s time at the Bulls has been nothing short of exceptional,” the Bulls said in a statement.

“The club sincerely thanks Valere for his dedication and contributions to Macarthur FC and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Macarthur head coach Mile Sterjovski said: “It’s unfortunate that Valere is leaving the club. He is a great person and professional who gave his best to the club. I know that he loved playing for the club.

“It’s great to see what we have done this season, and how it has attracted interest for our players both young and experienced.

“We wish Valere all the best.”
