Newcastle Jets bring international midfielder back to the A-Leagues

Newcastle Jets have signed Tanzania international Charles M’Mombwa for the remainder of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

M’Mombwa has an option to extend for the 2025-26 campaign as the former Macarthur Bulls and Central Coast Mariners midfielder returns to the competition.

With eight international caps to his name, the 26-year-old last played for Macarthur in 2023-24, making nine appearances.
“First and foremost, all glory to God, but also thanks to Rob, Damir, Ken and the rest of the staff here at the Newcastle Jets for believing in me and giving me this opportunity after what has been a tough couple of months for myself and my family,” he said.

M’Mombwa is the latest new face at the Jets after Newcastle also lured Japanese star Kota Mizunuma to the Hunter region from Yokohama F.Marinos in a huge coup for the club.

“Charles is a player who brings versatility and depth to our midfield. He has a great work rate and is very professional,” said Jets head coach Rob Stanton.
