Perth Glory import departs by mutual consent: ‘It wasn’t working out’

Perth Glory have announced the exit of Ecuadorian defender Luis Canga after eight Isuzu UTE A-League appearances.

Canga leaves the struggling Glory following the mutual termination of his contract in Perth, while the club hope to announce a replacement “shortly”.

The 29-year-old, who arrived prior to the start of the 2024-25 campaign, made eight starts for David Zdrilic’s Glory.

“We felt it wasn’t working out with Luis and agreed that it was in the best interests of both parties to part ways,” said Glory football director Stan Lazaridis as the team prepare for Saturday’s clash away to Brisbane Roar.

“Luis has conducted himself with great professionalism throughout his short time with us and on behalf of the club, I would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the very best for the future.

“We hope to announce the signing of a replacement centre-back shortly.”
