Auckland FC star Jake Brimmer has warned Wellington Phoenix supporters, telling rival fans “I’ll be back” as he looks to replicate his exploits in the second instalment of the New Zealand Derby.

In the first ever derby between the two sides, Brimmer scored twice at the death to lift Auckland in front of a record crowd at Sky Stadium in Wellington on November 2.
Asked if he had a message for Phoenix fans, he smiled and told Sky Sports New Zealand: “I’ll be back. I’ll be back for them.
“Work hard again this week and hopefully get the three points next week.”
Auckland are yet to concede a goal in the A-Leagues. The record-breakers created a new Australian national league record for the longest time before conceding a first ever goal, surpassing Western Suburbs, who conceded their first goal in the 53rd minute of the club’s fifth game 47 years ago.
After five straight clean sheets, Brimmer said: “It was something we spoke about all pre-season – what we wanted to achieve as a football club.
