Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the return of 18-year-old Sienna Saveska after the midfielder won the Ninja A-League Championship at crosstown rivals Sydney FC.
The teenager made her Ninja A-League debut at Western Sydney in 2023 but after seven games with the club, departed in search of game time with the Sky Blues.
Saveska made four appearances in Sydney FC’s Championship-winning 2023-24 campaign but has returned to where her Ninja A-League journey began.
“I left to find game time, and I came back to get game time,” Saveska said.
“I think this year I have a great opportunity to make my mark and really take the opportunity that I have been given to help the team and better myself in the process.
Saveska is the second new addition to head coach Robbie Hooker’s Wanderers squad confirmed by the club to date this off-season, joining Milly Bennett (scholarship contract) in Wanderland.
Hooker says the 18-year-old is a promising prospect in the next generation of young Australians breaking through in the Ninja A-League.
“A massive focus for myself and the club is in the future of our game, and the next generation of players that are coming through the ranks of the Ninja A-League,” Hooker said.
“Sienna is one of these players, and one that could be an exciting addition to our squad this season.
“Saveska has shown a lot of potential over the last two seasons, however we want to give her that opportunity to truly show what she is capable of and cement herself as a starting player – and we hope she takes that opportunity with both hands.”
