England rejects hosting PSL 10 playoffs, final

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced a setback in its plans to hold the playoffs and final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 in a foreign country. England, initially considered a frontrunner for hosting the matches, has rejected the idea.

According to PSL sources, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) cited scheduling conflicts as the primary reason for turning down the PCB’s proposal. With the English cricket calendar already packed, they were unable to accommodate the PSL matches.

The PCB is now exploring alternative venues for the playoffs and final. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has emerged as a potential option, but the scorching summer temperatures in May pose a significant challenge.

The decision to hold the PSL playoffs abroad was made in an effort to enhance the league’s global appeal and provide a more neutral venue for the final. Meanwhile, the franchise owners remain dissatisfied with their share of profits from the ninth edition and have demanded an early governing council meeting to address their concerns.
