PCB Suggests Hosting All India Matches In Lahore In Draft ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule: PCB has suggested hosting all of India’s matches in Lahore while leaving it to the ICC to convince BCCI to send its team.

While there is no official confirmation yet on India touring Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, it is now being learnt that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has left it to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to convince the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to send its team to Pakistan for the next world event.

A PTI report which quoted a PCB source claimed that while the budget for the Champions Trophy was approved at the ICC event, there was no discussion at all on the schedule and the format. In its draft schedule, the PCB has proposed that it will be hosting all of India’s matches in Lahore.

“The PCB now has done what was required of it as hosts of the Champions Trophy. It has submitted the draft schedule and format for the event and also submitted budget for the event,” the PCB source was quoted as saying in the report by the aforementioned news agency.

“It is now up to the ICC how soon they circulate, discuss and finalize the schedule of the Champions Trophy. The PCB for its part in the draft schedule has suggested hosting all of India’s games in Lahore including a semi-final (if India qualifies) and final,” the source added.

Pakistan Government Permits Indian Team To Be Hosted In The Country

Meanwhile, the said report quotes a different source as per which the Pakistan board has submitted all the details as part of the expression of the interest document to the ICC.

“The PCB for its part has given in writing to the ICC about the tax modalities, venue selections and clearance from its government for Indian team to be hosted in Pakistan for the mega event,” the source said.

Despite PCB leaving it to the ICC to convince India, the BCCI has so far remained firm on their stance that they won’t be travelling to Pakistan. In case, India do not travel and the tournament goes ahead, it will be Sri Lanka who will replace Rohit Sharma & Co. in the competition.
