Shaheens clinch big win over Bangladesh A

Pakistan Shaheens secured a 148-run victory over Bangladesh A on the fourth and final day of their first four-day match at the DXC Arena in Darwin on Monday.

The Shaheens bowlers, led by the impressive duo of Mehran Mumtaz and Shahnawaz Dahani, dismantled the Bangladesh A batting lineup. Set a daunting target of 408 runs, Bangladesh A began confidently, with their openers putting on a fifty-run stand. However, the introduction of Dahani broke the partnership, and the Bangladeshi innings faltered thereafter.

Mehran and Dahani were instrumental in breaking crucial partnerships and applying relentless pressure on the Bangladesh A batters. Amite Hasan showed some resistance with a well-made 71.

Bangladesh A were eventually bowled out for 279. Mehran finished with figures of 4-84, while Dahani claimed 3-57. The second four-day match between the two sides is scheduled to commence on Friday, 26 July, at the same venue.
