Shaheens ready for Bangladesh A challenge

The Pakistan Shaheens, led by Sahibzada Farhan, are poised to take on Bangladesh A in the first of two four-day matches starting on Friday (today) in Darwin, Australia.

The tour itinerary promises a packed schedule, with the second four-day match kicking off next Friday, July 26th. This will be followed by two One-Day matches on August 4th and 6th, to be followed by nine-team Top End T20 series from August 9th to 18th.

The Shaheens squad boasts a blend of experience and promising talent. While Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Omair bin Yousuf, and Shahnawaz Dahani have donned the Shaheens’ whites in red-ball cricket before, seasoned campaigners Ali, Khurram, and Umar Amin bring Test experience for Pakistan.

Pakistan Shaheens captain Sahibzada Farhan expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge, saying: “I’m thrilled to lead the team in this exciting series. Bangladesh A poses a formidable challenge, especially considering the new playing conditions we’ll face. The team underwent rigorous training in Karachi and has further acclimatised in Darwin. Coach Jason Gillespie’s guidance is invaluable for this talented group, and we’re determined to showcase our abilities in both matches.”
