Newcastle Jets confirmed head coach Rob Stanton will leave the club at the end of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The Jets announced Stanton’s departure amid speculation over the 52-year-old’s future at McDonald Jones Stadium, where he had been in charge since 2023-24.
A formal announcement regarding Stanton’s replacement will be confirmed in the near future.
“The club’s ownership group Maverick Sports Partners and the Board would like to thank Rob for his contribution over the last two seasons in what was a difficult and turbulent time for the Newcastle Jets organisation and wish him all the best for the remainder of the season and for the future,” a statement read.

It comes as Stanton’s Newcastle prepare to host Wellington Phoenix on Sunday.
The Jets are ninth and seven points adrift of the finals places heading into Round 25.
Former Sydney FC youth coach and assistant Stanton was appointed by Newcastle in 2023-24 following Arthur Papas’ exit.
Under his guidance, talented prospects Clayton Taylor and Eli Adams have thrived while the likes of Lachlan Bayliss, Thomas Aquilina, Callum Timmins and captain Kosta Grozos have also impressed.
