Sydney Thunder have named their 13-player squad to take on the Sydney Sixers tomorrow evening as the headline act of a double header at Drummoyne Oval.
Thunder have won two of their last three WBBL games against the Sixers and have won four of their last five matches at Drummoyne Oval. The team will also be bolstered by the news of Aussie star Georgia Voll’s extension, announced earlier this morning.
NSW Breaker Tara French comes into the squad as a Local Replacement Player for Sienna Eve who has been ruled of WBBL|11 with a back injury.
18-year-old allrounder Lucy Finn also comes into the squad. Finn earned Thunder’s final contract after impressing during the Australia u/19 tour of Sri Lanka and the T20 Spring Challenge.
Sydney Thunder Coach Lisa Keightley said:
“Sydney derbies are always fierce. I don’t have to say too much to the players, they’re up and ready for the matches.
“It’s been a tough start but we’ve been competitive in both games and we know what we need to do in order to get our first two points. We believe this team can make that happen and what better time to do so than our home Sydney Smash.”
