The final golf major of the season is upon us.
The 2025 Open Championship is set to take place from Thursday to Sunday (17–20 July) at Royal Portrush in Portrush, Northern Ireland.
Defending champion Xander Schauffele of the United States, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion, looks to retain his title, but he’ll face stiff competition, including from Paris 2024 gold medallist Scottie Scheffler.
Scheffler enters the Open as a favourite for many, riding a hot streak with three wins in his last six starts.
Other major contenders to keep an eye on include hometown hero and the 2014 Open winner Rory McIlroy, as well as two-time major winners Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.
