Team Selection: Trio return for veteran’s milestone

St Kilda makes three changes ahead of its clash with West Coast at Marvel Stadium.

St Kilda has swung three changes ahead of its clash with West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, with Noongar man Bradley Hill primed for his 250th AFL game.

Hill returns alongside Liam Stocker, who will play his first AFL game since sustaining a groin injury in Round 11, while first-year Saint Hugo Garcia will feature at senior level for the first time since Round 9.

The running trio will slot into the places of Mattaes Phillipou (hip), Ben Paton (omitted) and Arie Schoenmaker (omitted), with Schoenmaker, category B rookie Angus McLennan and ruckman Max Heath are emergencies.

Stocker’s and Garcia’s returns come after impressive VFL form, which saw the former bank 66 disposals and six tackles, and the latter poll 43 disposals, 15 tackles and a goal over the last three games.

Saturday will mark a special milestone for three-time premiership player Hill, who this week inked a three-year contract extension and will become just the 17th First Nations player in VFL/AFL history to play 250 games.

St Kilda and West Coast will kick off at Marvel Stadium at 1.45pm on Saturday.

Round 19
