Tauseef praises Pakistan victory against SA

Former Pakistan cricketer Tauseef Ahmed lauded Pakistan’s whitewash against South Africa in the ODI series.

The team has come in a position that it can challenge any leading team, including Australia, South Africa, and England in the Champions Trophy 2025, he said while talking to The News.

“The tours of Australia and South Africa are tough. When you emerge victorious from there it means you have potential to beat any team,” he added.

Tauseef said Baber Azam, Rizwan, Sufyan Muqeem, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Salman Ali Aga, and Kamran Ghulam played well on this tour. He said Pakistan would have a tough time with South Africa in the two Test matches. “Morale is high for all players after winning the ODI series. They are a winning combination and their confidence is high. They can beat South Africa in Test matches as well if the management utilises the players according to the condition of the wicket and weather and form and fitness of the player,” he said.

He said that if the wicket slightly helps spinners, Pakistan should play Abrar and Salman Ali Aga. Both would prove successful, he added.
