Sydney FC bolster goalkeeping stocks as former Canberra, Victory shot-stopper signs on

Sydney FC have announced the signature of experienced goalkeeper Beth Mason-Jones for the remainder of the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season.

The 27-year-old joins the club after previous stints at Canberra United and Melbourne Victory, and will go straight into head coach Ante Juric’s squad ahead of Sunday’s Round 15 fixture against Western United at Leichhardt Oval.

Mason-Jones spent three years at Melbourne Victory between 2016 and 2019 and made eight appearances for the Ninja A-League side, before joining Canberra for the 2021-22 Ninja A-League season.

“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity with Sydney FC,” Mason-Jones said.

“It’s a club with high expectations, and I’m eager to bring my experience and work ethic to help the team in any way I can. My goal is to push myself and my teammates to be at our best every week.”

Sydney head coach Juric described Mason-Jones as a great asset to the Sky Blues squad.

“Beth is a quality goalkeeper who will add depth and experience to our squad,” Juric said.

“She has great reflexes, commands her area well, and will bring further competition to our goalkeeping department, which is always a positive.

“Having strong options between the posts gives us stability, and I have no doubt Beth will be a great asset to the team.”
