Sixers name squad for clash with Stars

The Sydney Sixers have named a 13-player squad ahead of Friday night’s blockbuster against the Melbourne Stars at North Sydney Oval.

The Sixers will be boosted by the return of superstar, Alyssa Healy who comes back into the Sixers squad for Friday’s clash, after completing her return to play assessment.

The Sixers will be looking to return to the winner’s list tomorrow night, following a tight loss to the Adelaide Strikers at the same venue on Tuesday.

Skipper, Ellyse Perry continued her fine form notching 54 (from 28) while Scottish import Sarah Bryce fired for a second match in a row, smacking a vital 62 (from 44).

Ash Gardner was the pick of the bowlers (4-32) while Lauren Cheatle (3-35) claimed the crucial wickets of stars, Katie Mack, Maddie Penna and Amanda-Jade Wellington.

In exciting news, Friday night at North Sydney Oval will mark the first annual ‘Sixers Food Fest’ with the club bringing to life an elevated match experience for Big Bash fans looking to delight their tastebuds and enjoy great food, along with great cricket.

Food vendors for Friday night will include local suppliers, Volkhurst, Empanadas, Zan Potato Twists, Mapo Gelato, Little Tokyo, Grump Donuts with a selection of breweries and beverages available for fans of all ages.

First ball of Friday night’s match is scheduled for 7.15pm (AEDT) and will be broadcast live on Channel 7, 7Plus, Foxtel, Kayo and ABC Sport.

Gates open at North Sydney Oval from 3.15pm, ahead of the double-header between the Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder.
