Rizwan Gives Tribute To Pakistani Fielding With Worst Drop Ever In His Career

Pakistan’s newly appointed white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan had an eventful day, as he grabbed six spectacular catches in the ongoing second ODI of the ongoing three-match series at the Adelaide Oval. However, he also committed a blunder behind the stumps, dropping a sitter and giving Australia’s premier spinner Adam Zampa a lifeline.

The incident occurred during the 34th over of Australia‘s innings when Pakistan had already scalped nine wickets. As the visitors eyed for the final breakthrough, skipper Mohammad Rizwan brought Naseem Shah back into the attack.

His tactical masterstroke instantly paid off, with Naseem inducing a top edge off Adam Zampa’s bat. From over the wicket, the right-arm pacer surprised Zampa with a well-directed short ball.

As the batter attempted a pull shot, he only managed a top edge, with the ball gobbling high in the air. However, Rizwan, who is generally considered to have a safe pair of hands, dropped a sitter, letting Naseem and his team down. He ran towards his right and comfortably placed himself under the ball, failing to hold on to a straightforward chance.

Pakistan Bowl Australia Out For A Paltry Total

Skipper Rizwan’s decision to bowl first paid rich dividends for the visitors, as their fast bowlers capitalised on the freshness of the surface. While Haris Rauf dismantled the hosts with a sensational five-wicket haul, Shaheen Afridi bagged three wickets, restricting Australia to a meagre 163-run total.
