Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025: India’s emerging cricket talents under the spotlight

India’s emerging cricketing talents will have their moment under the spotlight at the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025, which gets underway in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.

All matches of the 2025 Rising Stars Asia Cup will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast in India.

Organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the tournament – first held in 2013 as the Emerging Teams Asia Cup – has completed six editions so far. The 2025 competition, to be played in T20 format, marks its first under the new Rising Stars banner.

The U23 Indian cricket team won the inaugural edition held in Singapore while Afghanistan A lifted the title – the last Emerging Teams Asia Cup – in Oman last year. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are also past champions.

This year’s edition runs from November 14 to 23 with eight teams – five ‘A’ or developmental squads from full-member nations and three associate national sides – battling it out for the continental team.

The India A cricket team, led by wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma, has been placed in Group B alongside Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan A), UAE and Oman. Last year’s winners, Afghanistan, are in Group A.

Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 teams and groups

  • Group A: Afghanistan A, Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong
  • Group B: India A, Pakistan Shaheens, UAE, Oman

Each side will play their other three group members once before the top two from each pool move to the semi-finals. The final will be played on November 23.

India A start their campaign against UAE on Friday. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan Group B match in the Rising Stars Asia Cup will be played on November 16.

The West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha will be the venue for all Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 matches.

The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been enjoying a sensational breakthrough year, is also in the India A cricket squad.

Vaibhav made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals earlier this year, becoming the youngest player to play in the T20 franchise league. He also became the youngest and fastest Indian centurion in the competition after slamming a 35-ball ton against Gujarat Titans.

Even after his breakout IPL season, the teenager has continued to shine for India’s youth sides, becoming both the youngest and fastest centurion in U19 ODI history.
