The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated key moves to restructure the Multan Sultans as preparations intensify for the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) season.
Among the candidates under consideration, Ramiz Raja is understood to be the leading option for a senior administrative role, with the board keen to bring experienced cricketing leadership into the franchise’s day-to-day operations.
On the coaching front, Mike Hesson’s appointment as head coach of Multan Sultans is nearing completion. Hesson, who previously was the head coach of Islamabad United, is currently serving as Pakistan’s ODI and T20 head coach, and is expected to play a dual role.
Earlier this month, the PCB confirmed that it will directly operate the Multan Sultans franchise for the 2026 season, as the team currently lacks an owner.
The board will manage all aspects of the franchise for this edition of the tournament, with plans to open the team up for sale once PSL 11 concludes.
Amid this transition period, Mohammad Rizwan has stepped down as captain of the Multan Sultans ahead of the new season, ending his leadership role with the franchise.
