The Pakistan Baseball Federation (PFB) launched a ground breaking development programme involving 150 men’s and women’s baseball players.

The athletes participated in a selection camp in Lahore. Former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Mickey Veston led the coaching staff.

At the end of the camp, the players split to form three men’s and three women’s baseball teams (Lahore Lions, Faisalabad Falcons and Multan Mustangs) to participate in the Punjab Baseball Men’s and Women’s Leagues.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, the PFB Secretary-General, emphasized that having a former professional player work with Pakistani players and coaches marked a historic milestone and thanked the organizers.

Punjab Minister of Education Rana Sikandar Hayat is a former baseball player representing Pakistan internationally. He said he plans to establish baseball fields in each division of Punjab.
