Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s availability for the first two matches of the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand hanged in the balance as he strived to fine-tune his bowling pace after a training session in Kakul.

The sources close to the development disclosed that the left-arm pacer’s availability for the initial two matches is not sure so far.
“Shaheen aims to optimize his performance,” said the sources close to him.
Afridi adopted the approach at the moment when the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024 is on the horizon.
The sources said that Afridi would take part in one match that would be played in Rawalpindi while in two matches that are scheduled for Lahore during the Kiwis’ tour.
The first match between Pakistan and New Zealand is due on Thursday, April 18 at Rawalpindi Stadium. Rawalpindi will host three matches while Lahore will serve as the venue for the remaining two matches.
