Melbourne Victory bring former Adelaide star back to Australia: ‘Exciting step in my career

Melbourne Victory have signed former Adelaide United star Louis D’Arrigo heading into the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 season.

D’Arrigo has signed a deal with the Grand Finalists through to the end of the 2026-27 campaign after arriving from Polish first-tier outfit Lechia Gdansk.

The 23-year-old midfielder made 35 appearances for the club after helping them secure a first-placed finish in the Polish I Liga and promotion to the first division in 2024.

D’Arrigo earned a move to Europe in 2023, having starred for Adelaide where he won the 2019 Australia Cup and became the club’s youngest player to reach 100 matches aged just 21.

“Joining Melbourne Victory is an exciting step in my career,” D’Arrigo said.

“This is a club with an incredible culture, passionate fans, and a real hunger for success. To be part of that environment and have the chance to contribute is something I’m grateful for.

“Returning to Australia is special in itself but doing it with a club like Victory makes it even more meaningful. I’m ready to give everything for the team and play my role in what’s ahead.”

D’Arrigo is Victory’s first arrival of the off-season, having re-signed Clarismario Santos while losing star pair Kasey Bos (Mainz) and Daniel Arzani (Ferencvarosi TC) as well as Fabian Monge, Alex Menelaou and Christian Siciliano.

Victory STUNNERS in Oakleigh Upset

Melbourne Victory youngsters put on a superb display as they shocked Oakleigh Cannons with a 5-2 away win including three spectacular strikes.

“We’re very pleased to welcome a player of Louis’ calibre to the Club,” said Victory head coach Arthur Diles.

“He’s shown he can perform consistently at a high level and will add depth and quality to our
midfield. Following a strong season, our focus is already on building towards the next step, and
we believe Louis can play a crucial role in that journey.

“He’s a quality addition, and we’re looking forward to having him in the change room.”
