Macarthur agree ‘exciting overseas’ transfer of young gun

Macarthur Bulls have agreed to sell talented Australian forward Ariath Piol in an “exciting overseas” transfers amid his breakout season in the Isuzu UTE A-League.

The Bulls have agreed a fee with an on-sell amount for the young gun, who has been lured from Campbelltown after just 11 appearances and four goals in Macarthur colours.

While the identity of Piol’s new club is yet to be unveiled, the academy graduate has been heavily linked with MLS outfit Real Salt Lake in the United States.

“Although it was short, my time at Macarthur was more than enjoyable,” Piol said. “My experiences with the Bulls have not only matured me as a person but also allowed me to make lifelong friends.”

“I’d like to thank the club, Mile, and Sam for blessing me with the opportunity to play,” he added. “To the coaching staff—thank you for your help behind the scenes because without them I wouldn’t have developed and become who I am today.

“Lastly, to the MFC fan base, thank you for welcoming me with open arms and making my experience as a player so much more enjoyable.”

While Piol has amassed just 436 minutes of A-Leagues action since emerging from the Bulls FC Academy in 2023-24, he has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting players in the competition.

He scored three goals in nine appearances this season, though only four of those were starts for Mile Sterjovski’s Macarthur. Piol also scored an unforgettable bicycle kick earlier in 2024-25 after winning the 2024 Australia Cup.

“People might expect me to say the bicycle kick, but my best memory was winning the 2024 Australia Cup,” he reflected.
