Netherlands fast bowler Vivian Kingma has been handed a three-month period of ineligibility after testing positive for a recreational drug at an in-competition test.
Netherlands pacer Vivian Kingma has been banned for three months for breaching the ICC Anti-Doping Code.
The 30-year-old tested positive for Benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite classified as a Substance of Abuse under the ICC Anti-Doping Code, in his sample following the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI against the United Arab Emirates in Utrecht on 12 May.
Kingma admitted the offence and demonstrated that the substance had been used out-of-competition.
As a result, he has been handed a three-month period of ineligibility, effective from 15 August 2025. This may be reduced to one month if Kingma is able to demonstrate that he has satisfactorily completed an approved treatment programme.
In line with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, Kingma’s records from the ODI against the UAE on 12 May and in subsequent matches have been disqualified.
