Julie Dolan Medalist departs Wanderers after three-season stint: ‘Grateful for the memories

Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed 2024 Julie Dolan Medalist Sophie Harding has departed the club after the star striker’s request for an early termination of her contract.

Harding, 26, signed a two-season extension with the club in May, 2024, after winning the Julie Dolan Medal in the Ninja A-League 2023-24 season. But one year on, Harding has departed the club due to personal reasons.

Harding won the Julie Dolan Medal after a breakout season at the Wanderers in 2023-24.

Harding made 58 appearances for the Wanderers over her three years at the club, and scored 18 goals – including 12 in 21 games in her Julie Dolan Medal-winning 2023-24 campaign.

“The Western Sydney community and fans have supported me since I arrived at the club and I will always be grateful for that,” said Harding.

“My experience here has made me a better player and person, and I’m grateful for the memories and experiences along the way.”

Harding is the first confirmed departure from the Wanderers since the conclusion of the Ninja A-League 2024-25 season.
