Jets re-sign teen tipped to ‘become one of the most dynamic ball carriers in the league

Newcastle Jets have re-signed local talent Josie Allan for a further two Ninja A-League seasons.

The 19-year-old academy graduate, who debuted in 2022, scored three goals in 2024-25.

Known for her pace and dribbling ability, Allan said: “It is always an absolute honour and privilege to play for the Jets and it’s something I don’t take for granted.

“Having come through the academy I now feel established in the squad, and I feel I’m in a position now to contribute more to this team.

“I spoke with our new coach Stephen Hoyle, and I’m excited for what lies ahead for the team.

“I can’t wait to re-group with the squad and get going again, and I can’t wait to see our loyal members and fans out there supporting us.”

New Jets head coach Stephen Hoyle added: “I’m really looking forward to working with Josie. She’s an exciting young talent who plays with real intent and energy.

“What stands out to me is how direct she is—an electric dribbler who can shift momentum in an instant.

“I see massive potential in her to become one of the most dynamic ball carriers in the league, and our focus will be on helping build confidence, consistency, to take that next step in her career. I’m thrilled she’s committed to this next chapter with us.”
