Muhammad Naveed Alam was honoured by squash legend Jahangir Khan and Lt Commander Muhammad Umar, recognising his decades of invaluable service to the game of squash.
The Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex held a heartfelt farewell ceremony in honour of coach Naveed Alam, where he was presented with the best squash coach award and a lifetime family membership for his outstanding dedication to the promotion and development of squash in Pakistan.
Squash legend Jahangir Khan presented Naveed Alam with the best squash coach award, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to the sport. “Naveed Alam’s work has been exceptional and deeply impactful,” said Jahangir Khan. “He has played a vital role in promoting squash through the Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex and in developing new champions for Pakistan.”
Lt Commander Muhammad Umar, who also awarded coach Naveed Alam the best squash coach award, praised his tireless commitment to nurturing talent and elevating the sport. “He worked selflessly, never caring about day or night. His only focus was to promote squash from the Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex platform. His discipline, hard work, and passion are truly commendable.” During his illustrious coaching career, Naveed Alam has trained and mentored several top national and international players, including Huzaifa Ibrahim (US Junior Champion), Zaynab Khan (National Women’s Champion), and Huzaifa Shahid (multiple international title winner). In addition to his coaching excellence, Naveed Alam has also served as Tournament Director, successfully organising numerous national and international squash events at the Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex. His lifelong contribution has left an enduring legacy in Pakistan’s squash community.
