Perth Glory have announced club academy product Luke Bodnar has had his contract mutually terminated to allow the defender to pursue overseas opportunities.
Bodnar, 24, made 45 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances at the club he joined as a teenager. Utilised as a defender and midfielder, Bodnar rose through the ranks of the club’s academy before making his senior debut in 2020, in the AFC Champions League.
Having made just one appearance under new Perth head coach David Zdrilic this season, Bodnar is now on the lookout for a new club abroad; Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis says the club is working with Bodnar to help facilitate an overseas move.
“This represents a good outcome for both Luke and the club,” said Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis.
“Luke has not been getting the game-time that he needs and wants at this stage of his career and that situation was unlikely to change, especially with new players set to be added to the squad in January.

“We worked closely with Luke to help facilitate a move overseas and an exciting opportunity has come up for him as a result of that.
“We would like to thank him for his service to the club and wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his football journey.”
Bodnar is the fourth player to depart Glory since the start of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season, following midfielder Mustafa Amini and overseas imports Cristian Caicedo and Luis Canga.
