Central Coast Mariners announce ‘unfortunate’ departure of American defender

Central Coast Mariners have confirmed the exit of Brianne Riley following the mutual termination of her contract with the Ninja A-League side.

The 24-year-old American will return home to the United States due to medical reasons.

Riley joined the Mariners for the 2024-25 season and made five appearances.

“While it is unfortunate that Brianne has needed to return to America early for medical reasons, we thank her for her time with us and wish her nothing but the very best for the future,” said head coach Emily Husband.

“With a number of important fixtures right around the corner, our full focus is firmly on securing a positive result tomorrow afternoon against Melbourne City.”
