Brisbane Roar have confirmed defenders Holly McQueen and Chelsea Blissett will be departing the Ninja A-League club following the expiration of their contracts.
Initially joining the Roar in 2021, versatile defender McQueen made 49 appearances in the Ninja A-League across five seasons for Brisbane.

A reliable figure for head coach Alex Smith during the 2024-25 campaign, the 23-year-old featured in 22 games as the club narrowly missed out on playing finals football.
“I want to say thanks to my fans for their support throughout my whole journey,” McQueen said.
“From being a train-on, to scholarship, to getting a full contract they’ve all been with me the whole way.
“I am very grateful for the start of my career being in my hometown of Brisbane in front of my friends and family.”

Joining McQueen in leaving the club is fellow defender Blissett, who departs after two seasons in Queensland.
Initially signed ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, Blissett started brightly for the Roar before then suffering an ACL injury which ruled her out for the remainder of the season.

However the 25-year-old bounced back from injury to put in a strong showing during the 2024-25 season as she racked up 20 appearances whilst also contributing a goal and four assists.
“Thank you to the Roar for being my home over the past two seasons,” said Blissett after her exit was confirmed.
“The club and its fans welcomed me with open arms, and I couldn’t be more grateful. You supported me through the most challenging time in my career, which makes it even harder to say goodbye.
She added: “The Roar — and especially its incredible fans — will always hold a special place in my heart.”
