Adelaide United are now up into second spot on the Ninja A-League ladder after goals from Erin Healy and Chelsie Dawber saw them defeat Perth Glory 3-0 at Coopers Stadium and extend their unbeaten streak to a club-record eight games.
It took the home side just eight minutes to break the deadlock and they did it in style; Healy rifling a low effort beyond the keeper and into the bottom corner after she was picked out by Emily Condon.
Adelaide had chances to extend their lead in the second-half and eventually added the third goal deep into stoppage-time as Healy smashed the ball home from close range in the 93rd minute to seal their ninth league win of the season.
The result moves Adrian Stenta’s side up into second spot on the ladder and now just four points behind league-leaders Melbourne City.
As for Perth Glory, Stephen Peters’ injury-ravaged side remain 9th on the ladder after suffering their third loss in four matches.

The away side fashioned the first real chance of the game and it came in the 8th minute; Caitlin Doeglas connecting with a deep cross into the box which required a scrambling save from Adelaide United keeper Claudia Jenkins.
Adelaide began to grow into the game though and broke the deadlock in just the 16th minute. Peeling into space on the edge of the box, Healy received the ball from Condon and duly arrowed the ball into the bottom corner to bag her fourth goal of the season.
Once the first goal had gone in Perth’s confidence then seemed to take a hit and it wasn’t long before Adelaide doubled their lead.
Afforded time and space down the right, eon picked out the run of Dawber inside the box and, having gotten in front of her marker, coolly clipped the ball over the advancing Dumont to make it 2-0.
Knowing they now held all the cards, Adelaide resisted any attempts of a comeback from Perth and looked the more likely to bag the third goal of the contest.
Connecting with a clever cut back from the left, Dylan Holmes fired a first-time effort wide of the far post in the 69th minute.
With the points already in the bag, Adelaide then scored their third of the afternoon as Healy capitalised on a loose ball inside the box to thump home her fifth goal of the campaign to make it 3-0.
The result not only sends the Reds up into second on the ladder but also sees them go eight matches unbeaten in the Ninja A-League – the first time they’ve ever achieved such a feat in their 17-year history.
