Asian Hockey Champions Trophy: Pakistan beat China to secure place in semi-finals

Nadeem Ahmed and Hannan Shahid emerged as the stars of the match, each scoring two goals to lead Pakistan’s hockey team to a commanding 5-1 victory over China in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024. This impressive win secured Pakistan’s place in the semi-finals.

Alongside Ahmed and Shahid’s standout performances, Abdul Rehman also contributed a goal, further strengthening Pakistan’s dominant display. Pakistan will now prepare for a highly anticipated and high-stakes match against their long-time rivals, India, set for Saturday. India has remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, making this clash even more exciting.

Earlier in the competition, Pakistan secured their first win by defeating Japan 2-1 on Wednesday. Nadeem Ahmed opened the scoring for Pakistan in the first quarter, but Japan equalized in the second. However, Sufyan Khan restored Pakistan’s lead in the 10th minute of the second quarter, securing the victory.

Pakistan’s first two matches of the tournament ended in draws against Malaysia and South Korea, respectively, but they are now gaining momentum as they move closer to the finals.
