Adelaide star announces coaching role: ‘Some of the best advice I got’

Stefan Mauk is preparing for life after football after the Adelaide United star announced his new role away from the Isuzu UTE A-League.

Mauk is the new head coach of the Sacred Heart College First XI in South Australia.

It comes as the 29-year-old midfielder and third-placed Adelaide fight to chase down league-leading Auckland FC while at least securing a top-two berth this season.

“Some of the best advice I got is to try as many things as you can while still playing, so you know what you want to get into post football,” Mauk wrote via LinkedIn.

“Looking forward to starting next week and preparing the boys for the competition starting in term 2.”

Mauk has scored six goals in 18 appearances for Adelaide this season, while the Reds are third but level on 32 points with second-placed Western United.
